The creation of this program and how lands can be obtained and used is governed by Illinois State Statute. Voters then voted to borrow $8 million to purchase land for Open Space. They are known as “Welter Farm” in Homer Glen and ”Trantina Farm” in unincorporated Homer Township. The “Purdy Farm” and ”Paul Farm” are in areas of Homer Township that are also within the boundary of Lockport.
